Twominds Records third venture comes in the form of their first various artists compilation; Tastemakers. The four-track release features artists from across Australasia, Jesper Tjarnfors, Ritmiq, Corners and Pang.

Jesper Tjarnfors Blue Ambo is the fast paced A1 track of the release. It features glitchy vocal effects, light hats and a rolling acid baseline. Huge dubbed out stabs elevate the track from the mid way point.

Ritmiq’s uaintnorealhustler slides in as the A2. A heavy sub bass pushes the track through lush chords and a subtle acid line. A hip hop influenced vocal sample is drizzled throughout the track accompanied by swinging percussion.

Label head Corners takes the B1 with Halcyon. The track is heavily influenced by early 2000’s tech house - think a simple baseline, repetitive stabs and chopped up vocals. The second half of the track sees a variety of synth lines feature to keep the dance floor guessing.

Pang completes the equation with Who you? This minimal styled track doesn’t overdo it, maintaining a laid back feel based around light and playful percussion. A neat, bouncy baseline and swirling pads expertly combine, and a classic vocal sample is the final cherry on top of an otherwise sturdy groove.

Had been waiting for this one to come out ever since I heard “Transcendence” in Emkay’s Kaiku Mix last summer, definitely my favourite Jeku release so far ❤️ I think I had the whole thing on repeat for more than two hours when it was finally released, such a great example of Jeku’s distinctive sound signature mixed with ethereal undertones that pretty much made me ascend to the astral plane when I listened to the tracks 💫 mustsebra
